Not sure where to post but what is this?

Found this in the ceiling in the closet.
Looks like a single coaxial cable into the back of a block of wood. ???

Looks like an old fashioned door jamb switch. Pushing the switch closed probably used to make the closet light go out.

That's not coax. That's an old piece of cloth covered romex cable.
Be careful.... it could still be live.

Thanks. That must be it.

Seems very flexible and rubber like. Not at all like that cloth wire in the nob and tube. I guess I'll find out when I remove it.

Need to find some nice motion LED lights. There was a big old florescent light and it was a total hack job.
