Cost to move Electric Pole

I live in N.J. and JCPL is our power utility. I have asked JCPL to come out and provide an estimate to move the utility pole directly in front of my home approximately 25 feet over. The right of way would be the same. I would like to shift my driveway and the pole limits this move. There are no transformers on the pole and wires would not have to be relocated, simply reattached to the new adjacent pole. Does anyone have any experience with this process? I am trying to anticipate what the cost would be. Thanks

I kind of doubt they will move it, and if they do, it would likely cost you $3-$5,000.
Utility companies do not work cheap.

Is this a mid-span to your building or the Utility main for the road?

May I ask why you want to move your driveway? Sounds as a lot of $$ for questionable benefits.
Moving the pole 25' means it will be further away from one or the other next poles making a excessive span.

We are building on a site of a previous home and the location of existing driveway does not match up to location of new garage

Can the driveway be on an angle or curve(s) of sorts?

I am in northeastern Louisiana & I just got an estimate on setting a new pole. I wont go into a lot of unnecessary discussions but they told me in the area of $1800 - $2000.
One thing you may need to know is, if the poles are more than 200 ft apart, it will need 2 guide wires. So, if moving it will put them further apart than they are now... more than 200 ft. you may have guide wires in the equation.

You have already done what you can to get a fairly accurate estimate re: called the utility company.

Due to the span you may have to pay for two poles.

There should be a tag on the pole..... it could be a Jersey Central pole or a Bell Telephone pole.
You have to call the owner of the pole.

After that...... you need to consider the other services..... like cable, FiOS, phone if it's a JC pole.
They'll all require payment for a non essential service.

The owner of the pole leases service to the other companies.
They don't move each others lines.

(you're located very close to me...... I'm in Florham Park.)
