Distance of main service wires to panel
We currently have a service disconnect switch in the crawl space and then a wire that connects to the panel 40' away.
We want to move the panel and upgrade to 200a though it will still be 25' away from the front foundation wall where the main wires come in.
Do we still need a disconnect or can an electrician just wire new wire to the service entrance and then direct to the panel?

Unfused service entrance cable must be kept to a minimum inside the building. That usually means less than 5 feet. You will either need a fused disconnect at the meter or run the cable on the outside of the house until it is within the 5 foot range.
