I'm in the process of buying my first home and after looking at 50+ houses I've determined that builders never install enough electrical outlets in the garage and basements. Is there a good website that will take me through the steps to safely install outlets where I want them?
I am not to this point yet in my basement wiring project but I am trying to read, study, and plan ahead. All of the wiring books I have studied have described pigtailing but NONE have explained what type of wire should be used for said pigtails.
When you electricians pigtail, do you just split some small sections of NM cables into their separate wires and use them or do you buy the single wires themselves? If I do need to buy the single wires themselves, what specific type of wire should I get?
I am running 12/2 NM on 6 circuits and 14/2 NM on 2 others.
