Wired smoke detectors in Georgia

Doing renovation in Georgia so I have to install wired interconnected smoke detectors in all bedrooms . Does code require a separate breaker circuit, or can jump off a hot wire?

The code does not require a separate breaker and actually prefers it not to be in a residential application. You should connect them to a lighting circuit as opposed to a general receptacle circuit. The reason is you'll notice the lights off/dead and know a breaker was tripped or turned off.

Check with your local building officials. Some areas require a dedicated smoke alarm circuit with a breaker lock.

I'm in Cobb County. I have left messages but can't seem to get any return call.
