Problem with brand new treadmill motor

Hi,
Please see this video
https://streamable.com/jx8il
I got a brand new treadmill and its motor is making a sound. When I removed the motor from its housing and tried to rotate it by hand, it is giving resistance at a specific place during rotation. The brushes look fine. What could be the reason? Also, how should I open the motor? Both ends of the motor are in the picture.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.

#1 - I'm surprised that motor has brushes and # 2 - how can you see them without removing the endbell from the motor ?

I agree with joed...... get a warranty replacement for it.

If its brand new just return it for a replacement on the warranty.

Most if not all times if you open it up you will void the warranty

Thanks, everyone for the reply. The seller just now refunded me in full and don't have any new left. Now I have this big treadmill occupying my home. Either I now thrash the whole treadmill or somehow get the motor fixed. I did not find a new same motor online either. Do you know any place in Boston where I can take the motor for repair? I enquired two places but in vain
@PJmax There are two small rectangular covers on the body of the motor which revealed the brushes

Post the make and model of the treadmill.

When they build devices like that they buy parts by the case from private sources. That motor is private labeled and isn't going to be found in a search.

Interesting, I don't believe I have ever seen a 90 volt motor before.

A 90v DC brush type motor wouldn't be my choice for there.

The name of the treadmill is Ancheer 2in1 2.25HP Electric Folding Treadmill. No model name to be found anywhere. Costed me 270 USD on ebay. Interestingly, advertised as 2.25 HP treadmill but on the motor label, it says 0.75 HP.

It's not "interesting"... It's a lie. But manufacturers do it all the time. It's common on shop vac's, air compressors and other tools. One horsepower is about 745 watts. 2.25 hp may be how much current the motor pulls just as it releases the magic smoke.

Yes it's unfortunate. Maybe the seller knew about this lie that's why refunded me in full even without asking to send back the treadmill.
