control cabinet separate ground
Installing newly purchased Chinese milling machine with stand-alone cabinet containing computer, stepper motor drivers, etc.
3 wire power cord for this cabinet contains 2 hots and 1 ground, to be plugged into wall outlet (220V 1 phase). In addition, the cabinet has a solitary screw terminal and instructions to connect that point to earth ground.
The ground wire in the power cord and this separate screw terminal are electrically connected, DMM indicates resistance between the two is 0.16 ohms.
How does one connect this screw terminal to the ground wire in the circuit breaker panel? Just run a single 12 gauge wire to the panel in conduit? That seems to be prone to tangled wires, snagged objects, etc. What is the best way?
