[left]Hey guys and girls. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Hopefully I can get some understanding on my query. [left] I have the following situations. A) I have an outlet. Standard in every way, except it’s a GFCI. This outlet is a 30 amp 110v outlet in a single pole 30 amp breaker. It was previously used for our RV B) I have recently obtained a new tanning bed. It is a 220v, 20 amp bed. Pulling 12 amps @ 2640 watts. C) my question and What I am thinking, and please feel free to comment, advise, etc. I’m looking for and welcoming input! can I use that 30 amp single pole breaker. Extend it into the room I’m using for tanning with 10/3 wire, and then at the outlet box, which I will install. I would then install a single outlet (air conditioner type so no one plugs anything into it) and within that box, could I jump a wire from the black to the white wire to serve as my second leg of the required power? with the breaker being 30 amps, it’s a bit more than I need, but it’s also enough to do what I need it to do! aa) jump from black to white at the outlet before the bed wiring. Ab) wire outlet at a 110 and merge to two hits into one wire coming out of the bed after The plug. So the alteration would be to the bed wiring and not changing the house wiring. questions I have: 1) is this a viable option? 2) would this cause any issues (either wiring option) with the ballasts of the bed? I’d hate to damage 24 ballasts. 3) is there any underlying current or other factors I’m missing or have failed to consider. My baseboard (electric) heaters have quit working and I don't know why?!
