Wiring a new light where a ceiling fan was
I removed an old ceiling fan (just a fan without a light) and want to install a pendant light. The room has other recessed lighting.
Prior to the removal, switch A toggled the lights and switch B toggled the fan.
My issue is now at the ceiling. I have one hot red wire and the two sets of black/white/ground.
How do I wire the new light to be controlled separately from the recessed lights?
If I link the two black and one red together, both lights work with both switches.
Thank you.

Welcome to the forums.
You need to use red and white OR black and white. One pair will be switched.
Don't connect the red and black.
