QO panel. Is there some trick to this?

Iíve just installed a Sq D NEMA 3R outdoors, the panel with the cover hinged at the left with a metal tab latch at the right side.
once the door is closed, it is difficult to reopen the door due to the latch. Once the tab is fully inserted in the door, it almost requires a tool to uninsert. Is this a common problem with these. I believe it is a 12 space 125 A rated box. Maybe there is a common hack. Since this contains breakers for a boat lift, I donít feel comfortable with this. I suspect the door will defeat 90% of the population. There doesnít appear to be any shipping damage, seems to be design related.

There may be a trick to it. Or a defect.

You can contact Schneider Electric they are good at getting back to you. They may be able to assist you. They are the makers of this panel.

The latch keeps the door closed to prevent the weather from getting into the breakers and panel interior.

I just installed 2 in the last couple of weeks. Just push the latch tab towards the center and the door opens. What issue are you having?

Those tabs get bent in the box during shipping. Sometimes they need a slight attitude adjustment,
