Ceiling Fan attachment question

I removed a ceiling fan temporarily. The bracket it hangs on had that circular center piece that holds the ball type attachment on some fans. However, my fan didnt have that ball.

It currently hangings on two screws on side of the fan base that you turn into a slot. And then 2 other set screws.

Is that correct? Or am I missing the ball?

Fans come in a couple of hanging options. Your fan was installed using the solid mount without a down rod connecting directly to the bracket. The ball option is if you want the fan to hang lower from the ceiling with an extension rod. The ball option was likely tossed after the fan was installed.

I was concerned about how secure it was after rehanging.
How long are those screws typically?

Mine had small machine screws, its hard to believe thats enough to hold a large fan?

The screws you describe are typically what is used. The screws are holding sheer weight and could likely hold more than you think.
