Tanning Bed Wiring

We recently inherited a tanning bed. I am having some issues after wiring it.
Specs on bed are marked at
Wolff 324 SL
14 Amp
240 1 Volts
I thought I had it figured out but now am second guessing.
I installed a:
20 amp double pole breaker
125/250v 30 amp 4 prong Receptacle
30 amp 250 v 4 prong plug
Using 10-3 wire. The tanning bed diagram is showing 4 wires running into the bed. The pre existing wire had 3 wire in it. Black to black red to white and white to ground to ground. I replaced that with the new 4 wire plug.
I plugged it in and the breaker tripped, flash from the receptacle and a burnt place on one of the prongs of the plug. Do i need bigger amp plug and receptacle? Bigger wire? Or is it something, somewhere in the tanning bed. Thank you!!

Welcome to the forums.

Black to black red to white and white to ground to ground.
What exactly does this mean ?

Your tanning bed should be 240vAC only.
That means it requires a three wire connection. Two hots and a ground.
If the diagram shows four wires then we will need to see the wiring diagram.

Found manual and states 120/208 or 120/240 @ 20 amp or 120 @ 30amp. Bulbs appear to be wired for 120v so needs neutral.

Wiring diagram shows Green, Black, White, Red for cord connections. Using 240v circuit then match colors should be the way to do it using 4 prong plug. Guess is either something is shorted or was rewired for 120@30 so jumper between red and black at relay needs removed.
