Gfci outlet

I have 4 outdoor outlets at my house. None are gfci. We rarely use them.

i tried using one today for a speaker and the outlet innards are loose. The plug goes in loosely and doesnít connect.

Iíd like to replace it. Is wiring a gfci any different than a regular plug? I recall reading that it can be wired to protect other outlets further down the line. Right now, I donít know if all the it door plugs are in the same circuit. I donít think they are.

I really just want to replace this one outlet which wonít accept a plug.

Yes just replace it with a GFI.

The GFI will have a line ands a load side.
Just do not hook up any wires to the load side, They are for outlets further down the nine.

And also be sure you use a weather rated box, in use bubble cover and that the GFCI receptacle is also weather rated "WR".
