I am changing out a ceiling fan which I have done a dozen times before and I have always had the ground wire attached to the box in the ceiling but whoever did this one has the ground wire nutted to the house ground. Is this Ok? If not, I am worried that they did this at othe fixtures

Normally the ground wire connects to the box and then the fan.
You're saying the ground wire is connected directly to the fan and not the box too.
That is not unsafe. Just connect the box as your change the fans.

OK, thank you so much. I "thought" it might be "ok" but I do not want to gamble with my "thoughts" I also did not want to check every light fixture either LOL

Thanks

It only connects to the box if the box is metal.

Thanks. I will look at each box as I change out the fixtures.. My "guess" is that if this box is plastic, the rest will be since the house was built in 1999 and most people were using the plastic by then.
