Question

I purchased a exact replacement pump for my pool, but the original pump was 115/220 volt and using the 220v config. The mfg now only sells the replacements in 115v only config.
What must I do to use this new pump?

Whether above ground or inground pool the following would apply;

Go to a related post called POOL SUBPANEL. You should be provided with the requirments of pool pump motors. Many requirements apply and are spoke of there. Make sure you have a wiring design that meets those spoke of. Little change has been done to this pool pump wiring minimum requirements for well over a decade. Make sure you are safe and meet those requirements. Remember you are liable if you don't meet the NEC requirements and could lose all you own if you don't and something bad happens. If you do meet those requirements, then come back in and give us the colors of conductors and how many conductors serve your old pool, and if any are bare going to you pool pump. We should be able to guide you to convert this branch circuit to you 120 volt motor.

Good Luck
