Rewire Outlet Idependent from Switch

Currently have an outlet that is powered by an on/off switch just below it. My primary goal is to have the outlet run independently from the switch and add another outlet along same wall. The switch has only a white & black wire attached. The outlet has 2 sets of white/black wires. One set on outlet and one set in a nut (that I determined is the load coming in). There is a light & ceiling fan on same circuit but, they do not appear to be affected by this outlet/switch. How can I rewire this outlet to be always hot. And would I be able to use the switch for something else later on?

Remove the black wire from the receptacle.
Remove the wire nut from the black and white wire.
Connect the black wire from nut to the receptacle.
Cap the black and white from the switch and push into back of box.
