Ring Doorbell Pro not working with mechanical chime
When I first installed Ring Doorbell Pro to my front door, the video wasn't working and our mechanical chime continued ringing. My mechanical chime is Desa Specialty Product #TR-0081-BX which requires a diode for the front door. After much trial and error I found the Ring Pro will work if I take the diode out, but then both the front and back doorbell chime is reduced to a small chirp. Do I need to buy a mechanical chime that doesn't require a diode or is there something I can do to make the 2 compatible?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.
As far as I know you can't use any chime that requires a diode.
That interferes with the charging of the Ring.
Most chimes also require the Ring power adapter.

You need diode only when you have a digital chime (one that plays melody) and later models don't even require external diode.
Mechanical ones do not require diode as it will short out the switch causing the issue you have experienced.
Did you configure your Ring to use mechanical door bell? It is somewhere in the app, but I don't remember..
If you did, you may need to upgrade transformer for your door bell or install ring pro power kit as PJmax suggested.
