Quick question about flexible metal conduit

If wires are running through a flexible metal conduit, does the conduit help contain sparks if there was a short circuit? Kind of how a junction box does. Wouldn't it stop sparks from flying out onto surrounding materials such as in an attic?

Yes it will contain. That is one of the purpose of conduit. Metal conduits must be bonded to ground so that you don't get electrocuted in case of wire insulation failure.

Yes... but you hope the circuit breaker (or GFCI/AFCI) will trip before any of that happens.
