Running wiring across ceiling and down wall

I need to run a wire along the path of the red line in the attached picture.

It is original 1920 lathe and plaster so I'm trying to minimize damage to it.

Specifically asking if there any creative ways (like via the recessed lighting cutouts?) that I can transition from the ceiling down into the wall, without having to cut into the lathe/plaster?

If I do have to cut, am I cutting into the wall (just below the ceiling), the ceiling (next to the wall) or both?

I don't have easy access from above (second floor living space).

I do have easy access below (basement) for pulling the wires through the floor in the picture.

So the issue is just the 90 degree transition from ceiling to wall. The blue line is the wire for the existing door bell chime. For interference reasons I want the new drop (red line) to be at least 12" away from this.

In order to preserve the integrity and appearance in the corridor area, I would do all the cutting/drilling/fishing/patching in the closets where repairs would not be noticed.

Vertical wiring could also be run in the closets in conduit to avoid having to fish through the walls.

p.s. Low voltage wiring like CAT 6 wouldn't need conduit. It could be exposed inside the closet.

What does the red dot represent ?
Does something install at the red dot ?
What wire are you running.... low voltage for the doorbell ?
If both are low voltage.... run them thru the same bay. You can use the chime as a pull point.

Where you transition from the ceiling to the wall..... at the very least you will need to notch the plaster around the corner.

What does "notch the plaster" mean Cut into the ceiling and the wall at the 90?

You may not need to notch or cut anything, especially if the house is balloon framed.

Red dot is for a wifi access point. Cat 6 cable. One run.

I don't know what balloon framing is. I just want to make as minimal damage as possible.

Whether I run it down the same bay as the existing door chime wire (blue) or not isn't relevant in terms of making the transition from the ceiling to wall aspect of question. And I have plenty of access in basement to pull it though the floor.

Yes it's a hallway. First door on left is a closet. First door on right is a closet. Second door on right is a bathroom. Opposite on left is a 90 degree turn into another short hallway (hard to see). Behind (camera) is kitchen.

The ceiling should be open from your red dot into the closet. In other words you could go up where the red dot is and come out in the closet ceiling. Then run it down in the corner of the closet.

Otherwise you create a notch approx 1/2" - 3/4" wide approx 1-1/2 from the corner down the wall and from the corner out to the ceiling. Use staples or small fasteners to hold wire in place and then spackle over it.

PJmax OK I see what you mean by notching now.

I guess I assumed if I was forced to cut plaster I would remove down to the lathe, then drill whatever framing is behind that 90, run the wire through the hole and then patching back with 1/4" drywall screwed to the lathe and plaster.

I'm not sure what framing is behind that 90.

You only need to remove what you need to fit the wire in..... plus a little new plaster.
A standard sheetrock wall will have 2x4's in the corner so that there is a nailer for the sheetrock.
There may not be a nailer for the lath. You may not need to come out that far.
I use what is like an ice pick to locate where the nailer ends.
