Single pole switch in middle of 2 lights

The circuit goes:
receptacle-->light in octagonal box->single pole switch->3 wires to light.

Since it's not a 3 way how should I connect this, just leave the neutral capped?
I assume the single pole switch is a switch loop to the 1st light.
The switch should control both lights.

You need:

Power at receptacle -- two wires -- octagonal box with light -- 3 wires -- single pole switch -- two wires. -- second light

Suggest

Connect all the white wires together for neutrals. Add a white wire segment (pigtail) to each light fixtures if a white wire not already provided by the fixtures.

Except for the black from the receptacle connect all of the black wires together. Add black pigtail to each fixture if a black wire not already provided by the fixture. Add black pigtail to one switch termiinal.

Connect the red wire to the other switch terminal and to the black coming from the receptacle box.

(Connect all the ground wires together.)

You need three wire cable from the first light to the switch or you can not do it. You do not have a neutral for the second light with only a two wire cable.
