Need a switch that indicates it’s ON

Is that called a pilot light switch? Do you need a neutral? How do I know if I have a neutral?

any other options?

thanks

Switches with a pilot light does require neutral.

Remove the switch and if you have a white wire that is not connected to the switch. This will be your neutral.

If you only have 1 black and 1 white wire connected to the switch, then this white wire is not neutral. It is switch loop.

If you don't have a neutral..... tell us what you are switching and need to monitor.

Haven’t had a look yet. But the switch is in my garage and operates a plug which I operate my de-icing cables on.

You could use an illuminated light switch if you don't have a neutrat but you have to think in reverse because the switch is illuminated when off and not illuminated when on. Plus the illumination is not real bright to see in daylight. The switch is made to find it easily in a dark area.
