Question

There was a water leak in the upstairs bathroom. We attempted to remove the kitchen flouresent light fixture. We only got as far as pulling down the wiring and then we put it back up. The next day the light didn't work. Today none of the lights on that kitchen circuit work. Did we move something that connects all of the lights together? When I move the circuit breaker nothing happens. Please help.

Be certain you've indentified the breaker for this circuit and be certain it's on-take a voltage reading from the reaker terminal to the nuetral. If's it's on you may have opened the neutral connection(white wires). Is the fixture switch-controlled? I suggest you remove the flourescent, check the connections in the box, and connect a lamp socket as a test and get it to operate before you re-connect the flourescent.

What exactly do you mean when you say "pulling down the wiring"? Did you disconnect wires (on purpose, that is)? If so, then by what algorithm did you reconnect them?
