3100W Inverter Generator for when GRID down

Just bought a Champion gas generator for backup and intend on using a small window A/C in nearby )20- feet away) room but am worried about using extension cords (since it seems like everyone is saying extensions are dangerous for this). I'm wondering though - wouldn't I be all right if I use a heavy duty (like 25 foot 12/3 SJTX Industrial Grade Lighted) extension?

I would use the cord shown without any hesitation since it's temporary. I assume the window AC doesn't pull more than 15A.

Yes, a 12 or 14 ga cord like that will be good.
