25A 125V Duplex Receptacle

Has anyone ever seen or heard of a 25A 125 volt duplex receptacle before. I had someone quiz me on this and then point this item out and I was puzzled, I had no idea there was such a thing. I briefly tried to find the manufacturer's website with no luck. I suspect this is an offshore manufactured item that isn't UL Listed.

The common 15 amp flat blade receptacle for 120 volts is a Nema 5-15r. The Nema 5-20r is rated at 20 amps and has two flat blades but one is rotated 90 degrees from the other, although you often see it with a T slot so it can also accept 15 amp plugs.

The Nema 5-30r is rated for 30 amps and has one flat blade and one L blade.

There is no Nema standard for 25 amps.

Here is the NEMA straight blade chart and I don't see it listed there either.

I know that! That's why I ask, has anyone ever seen or heard of such a thing as a 25A 125 volt duplex receptacle? And I agree, the NEMA configuration is that of a 20 amp device, but it is listed as a 25A device on Amazon.

Probably just spec inflation to try to scrape sales. "This $100 amp has 4000 watts per channel!" I notice the one you linked to is "unavailable".

Something like that would be used more in an industrial setting than residential anyway. Very few devices that plug in at home actually require a 20amp configuration much less a 25amp Maybe a very large UPS may. Other than that I can't think of anything that would in a home.

That is an example of somebody posting something for sale and not having a clue what the item is.

I was also curious about the manufacturer. I am sure I am not the only one who has never heard of FidgetFidget.
