Running Electrical Wire

Can 14 gauge wire be stapled to the floor joist in a basement? This wire will come from an electrical panel to a receptacle.

Can be stapled along sides but needs to be at least 1.25 inches from nailing edge of joist. Has to be run through bored holes when going perpendicular across joist. Hole edge need to be back 1.25 inches from nailing edge of joist.

Individual wires can not be installed without raceway. You need to use a cable such as Non-metallic cable (Romex) if allowed in your area.
