I have a finished basement in my home, but don't care for the recessed lighting. Wanted to know how to switch them over to ceiling fan receptacles. I'm really good with wiring and home repairs but didn't know if there was an easy way of doing it.

Check the site mentioned below there is a section with all sorts of wring combinations for fan/light combos.

The switch option selections are down the left side of the main page.

The problem you will come across is if their is a drywall ceiling and you may end up opening part of ceiling up and removing the recessed lighting fixtures ,and installing proper electrical boxes to mount your new fan/light combo units.
