Question

I'm preparing to run some additional cable tv wiring via the attic of my home. Are there any concerns with laying the cable alongside/parallel to power cables? Seems like I remember that interference can result if they are close to each other, but I am not sure. I just want to make sure I will have a good tv picture after running the new cable. Thanks!

Coax cable is pretty immune from electrical interference. I probably wouldn't run it in the same conduit, but other than that I think you'll be okay. Keep any phone or network wire (i.e., cat3, cat5, cat5e) away from the electrical cables.

John is pretty well right. I always spoke of a rule of thumb you should follow as to not parallel closely to a power cable any network, phone or cable for a distance of more than 10'in close parallel without breaking away from that cable. Always seemed to be a good rule of thumb and didn't experience interference using that self rule.
