I recently had an electrician replace my GFCI outlet in our garage. When the GFCI was replaced in garage which controls electical power to my office,the outlets have power in the office but when you hit the switch that contols the light and ceiling fan.Power is then turned off entirely. Please help

I wonder how many romex cables enter you box where the GFI is located. Check to see is one wire didn't make it under one of the wire nuts. Chance may be remote but possible.

Is it possible that the electrician was working also in that light switch where he may have misidentified a load wire on the switch that should have been installed on the line side. Check to see if more than one wire is on a screw or plug in hole in the back of that switch that coincides with that screw. I suspect that the E/C was working in that switch box and made a switch of wires from one wire nut to a second wirenut or from one side of a switch to the other side of that switch by mistake.
