I need to find out how to wire a Dayton propane greenhouse heater. It has 4 wires out of a transformer: blue wire, black wire and 2 white wires. The blue is marked hot L1. One of the white goes to the fan and the other goes to the transformer. The black wire goes to the bottom of the transformer. Can anyone help me? Does the gas need to be on in order to make the fan run?

Try connecting the black wire to the black wire of your branch circuit and the two white wires to the white wire of the branch circuit. Then you should find a green screw in that area to connect your bare wire to.

The fan won't come on until the heater comes up to a temperature that will make the fan switch to activate. Then the fan will come on automatically.

Hope this helps
