light switch wiring
i brought a new light switch to replace my old one, when looking at the switch i noticed that there just gold screws not silver and gold like for a outlet, so can the switch be wired either way without any problems. thanks

Assuming that this is a 2-way switch (i.e., it is the only switch controlling whatever it controls, and the lever says "on" and "off" on it), and assuming that you have exactly two wires to attach, then yes, you can hook either wire to either screw. All the switch does is connect the two screws together electrically.
