Flickering Light - Noisey Switch
#1

I have a room with an overhead light on a three-way switch. Tonight I turned the light on and noticed it was flickering just a bit. I could hear one of the switches making a bit of noise.
I turned off the light and don't plan on using it again until I can replace the switch.
What causes this? Other than replacing the switch should I be terribly concerned with this?
Thanks.

Before replacing the switch, open the switch box and check for loose connections. This may be the problem and yes, it is dangerous.
If the connections to the switch are backstabbed, remove them and use the screws on the switch. This is a 3-way switch, so you will have 3 wires connected to the switch. If you replace it or change the wiring, be sure to connect the same wire to the odd-colored screw. Mixing up the other two won't matter.
