Junctioning To 220v Dryer Circuit

I WANT TO RUN MY AIR COMPRESSOR. CAN I RUN A LINE AND TAP INTO THE DRYER CIRCUIT WHICH IS IN LAUNDRY ROOM NEXT TO GARAGE. I WAS THINKING I WOULD CUT THE DRYER LINE IN THE ATTIC ADD A JUNCTION BOX AND TIE THE NEW COMPRESSOR CIRCUIT IN THERE. IS THAT ALLOWED? I PROBABLY WON'T RUN BOTH APPLIANCES AT THE SAME TIME.
