Question Would a lower watt microwave help

I have a 1200 watt microwave in a bedroom plugged into a regular curcuit that I assume includes the overhead ceiling light fixture and an outlet that has a desklamp and a very small refrigerator plugged into it. The microwave often makes the curcuit break, even if the refrigerator is not running at the time the microwave is in use. If I replace the 1200 watt microwave with one of 700 watts or 500 watts do you think this would this solve the problem?

It might. Do you have access to an amp meter? You can check the load.
