Angry water heater

just installed a gentran transfer switch model(30508)to main panel.works great.had some bad weather ,no service for 3 days,no hot water, now wife is mad.water heater is on 30 amp breaker which is not compatible with this switch.is there any other way to connect water heater besides doing away with this switch(payed over $200)and buying a bigger amp transpanel. generator can handle water heater, just hate to replace transfer switch.any thoughts would be appreciated. by the way nice site
