GFI Outlet

I have a GFI outlet in my bathroom. Periodically it trips (I guess) because I have to push in and hold the reset button. This shuts down my bedroom and one outlet in the living room (which by the way has my computer plugged into it). It has no rhyme nor reason, it follows no pattern. Sometimes it will go weeks and weeks without going off then again it will do it 2 to 3 times in a 2 week span. PLEASE ADVISE

Thank You

Replace the outlet and see if it is just faulty. If the new one does the same, then maybe it's doing it job and you have an intermitant fault. Once you figured that out;
Since you only need the GFCI in the bathroom, rewire the outlet so the bedroom and living room circuit is fed by the line side of the outlet, rather than the load side. That way a trip will not effect the computer.
