lost one line

lost electric on one line in my house, whats the easiest way to troubleshoot this problem. seems no circuit breakers have tripped. Have knowledge on use of multimeters.

Are you referring to one leg of your incoming current? If so, you probably either have a blown fuse at your main disconnect or a loose connection at the main.

First post here on this great forum. I really appreciate having the expert advice available on these DIY forums. I have a plan to add power to the new workshop I'm building, and I'd like to run it by here for your concurrence. 1800-sq ft high-bay detached workshop will have both woodworking and metal/engine tools, climate control (possibly heat pump) and several 3-5 hp single and 3-phase motors (rotary phase converter). I plan to add a 240V/100A breaker to my 200A service entrance panel at the house. Will run #2AWG THWN (2 black, 1 white, plus #6AWG equipment ground conductors) underground in 1-1/2 inch PVC conduit buried 18" for 125 ft. At shop, will install a 200A SEP I already have, with a 200A service disconnect/breaker. Will isolate the neutral buss from ground and will install two grounding electrodes 6-ft apart at shop to ground the EGC buss there. Will add 20A and 30A circuits as needed in shop using NMC and quad receptacles. See anything (A) unsafe, (B) non-NEC compliant, or (C) wasteful? I'd appreciate your comments. Unknown Type Of Wire

Hello; Need some help on identifying a type of conductor recently uncovered in house. This wire is a two wire conductor with ground. It has one black, one white, and a bare ground. It is encased in a grey rubber(?) flexible material. I have shown a piece in several places and everyone shrugs their shoulders as they haven't seen it before. This house had some wiring done a long time ago ) possibly late 60's/early 70's) and may have been installed then. The wire on the conductors outside is 14 ga and bare is 16.( This was the subject of a related post ) Has anyone ever seen this wire before and is it safe to leave in place ?
