Noisy Dimmer Switch/Transformer

Installed Hampton Bay's low-voltage halogen track lighting over the weekend along with a dimmer switch. The track has six 50W halogen lights. The dimmer switch now emits a humming noise when the power is reduced below "full".

Am wondering if I need a higher-end dimmer switch to account for the six lights...perhaps a model with additional filters????
FYI: Hampton Bay low-voltage lighting uses an electronic (solid-state technology) transformer instead of a magnetic transformer so I know this impacts the type of dimmer I can use.

Is the noise from the dimmer or transformer?

electronic ballests and iron core ballests use different types of dimmers. Try a electric supply house for help I doubt you'll find what you need at a home depot etc. Good luck
