picard1, If your using conduit from the meter can to the service panel: #1- THHN copper conductor. If not: #1/#1#1-SER copper service entrance cable or #2/0-#2/0-#2/0-SER aluminum service entrance cable.
I am building a home addition, and we are putting a hot tub in. It takes a 220-20AMP and a 220-30AMP, and we have two conduits coming out of the addition to go into the ground to the tub.
My questions:
1. Can we run all 8 wires in one conduit?
2. Where do I bring the electrical up? Do I bring it up inside or outside the concrete pad? Do I bring it up inside or outside the access area?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
1)can a sub panel be added to the lugs above the main breaker if the service to the house is already adequate to handle the extra load?
2)what is the likelyhood that my service down from the meter is already large enough to handle extra load and how do I tell for sure? the house is in michigan and built in 1974
