bad wires

bad wires

I have 2 single pole switches that control 2 different lights in my bathroom. The source of power into the switch box is from 14/2 wire with ground. I also have 14/3 wire with ground coming out of the box and going to a 3 way switch.The problem I have is when I shut the switch that controls the light over the sink , I still have power in the line when tested . What I would like to know is how to hook up this system the right way. I took all the wires apart and can't seem to figure it out. Thank you Joe 4h

IF you have power in the first switch and switch leg to the light fixture coming from the second switch of that certain three way switch system take a look at the fllowing link [3 way switch].

If you have power and switch leg in the first switch and a three wire cable going to the second swich with no other cables involved with that second switch in its box then take a look at the following link [3 way switch]
