I have wired a sub panel with a 240V supply and run a 4 wire cable (red, black, white& bare ground) out to the heater, that requires 240V power supply. The heater only has 2 wires coming from it labeled L1 & L2,how should this be connected to supply 240V.

hi Kevin N,
well your heater requires no nutural(the white wire). you could pull out the 3 wire and install a 2 wire but if u want to hook it up with whats installed disconect the white in the panel from the nutural bar and cap it off, im assuming that the red and the black r under the 2pole breaker. put the black on L1 and the red on L2 caping off the white in the heater connect the bare to the frame of the heater. if u elect to chaing to the 2 wire hook the white and the black wires 2 the 2 pole breaker, the bare to the ground bar in the panel. on the heater hook bare to frame, black to L1 white to L2
