LED panel stopped working on our treadmill. We can still use machine - speed dial and elevation switch works ... but now readouts. LED panel total black. No speed, distance, time, calories or pulse. Took cover off, no obvious loose wires. Checked all wiring from motor at base of unit ... no obvious loose wires. Does anyone have any idea how to fix? "Vitamaster Freedom Walker R-8719 JP" no longer made ... company out of business.

Thumbs up

The LED dial on this unit has a small power supply and an IC counter/driver (either combined or separate IC's. Since everything went dark, it is safe to assume the power supply failed. Usually this is a small step down system to deliver 12-18 volts DC. If the diode failed, it most likely snuffed the fuse in the process. How to find it? Start with the cord and work inward to the circuit. There you will find the power supply in whatever form it takes. A good volt-ohm meter, a low wattage soldering iron, and a little patience will bring the LED's back to life again.
