If anyone can help me on this one I would appreciate it much. I just installed a new light fixture and light switch. The problem seems to be that when I turn off the switch it has a little spark on the bottom screw but not everytime I flip it on and off, it seems to do it only when I turn off the switch. Is this normal?

hi sam,
is the spark inside the switch or outside? in some switches espicelly the cheaper 1's u will get a small spark inside the switch as the contacts break whin u turn off the switch this is perfictly ok and normal. it sometimes apears as if the spark is on the outside of the switch. to be sure remove it from wall and switch it on and off and c if u c it. if not replaice the switch and c where the spark is comeing from and going 2, it could be that the hot is arcking to the ground wire but id think it would do it on both on and off, im betting its the contacts breaking.
