I have a ceiling box with a red, white, black and ground wires (four total). There was not an existing light to reference and I'm a little confused since the switch does not turn off the light. The wall switch has red and black wires connected to it with three white wires capped inside. I've attempted to install a chandelier by connecting the three wires to their counterparts in the ceiling box, but where does the red wire connect on the chandelier? Am I supposed to cap the red and the black and then connect them to my hot (black) wire on the chandelier? Thanx for your help.
