shallow well pump

Hay guys,

I'm new to this bb. I am currently sinking a shallow well and am installing a 2hp myers pump. This pump requires 220v. I have a spa which uses 220V and am wondering if I can use power from this. This also has a seperate subpanel with a 60 amp fuse.

Thanks in advance

You will not want to install the well pump on the spa circuit for two reasons. First, the spa should be on a GFCI protected circuit, and if both of them kick in at the same time, you could have a problem with the breaker tripping. Secondly, the full-load draw for a 2HP motor at 240V is only 12 amps, so you will only require a 20 amp breaker for the well pump.
