wiring door bell

hello, my transfomer has three wires in the back two black and one teal.the front of the transfomer has two screws, one on the left side the other on the right side. I see no signs of neg. and pos.how do i connect these three wires to the electrical wire.and
what wires and which side do i put on the two screws.
Then my door chimes has three places for wires to be connected, the front door to the left, the transfomer in the middle and the back door to the right. there are two white wires, two red wires and one teal wire thats leading to the door chime, where do these five wires go on the chime?

cep315,The two black and teal(bluish/green)wires connect to a branch circuit junction box in the basement, usually at a light fixture. What you need to do first is determine which wires are for the doorbell buttons and separate them into pairs. Also determine where those wires at the doorbell run to. You will need a ohmmeter or continuity tester to check those wires. Wherever you mount that transformer terminate all your wiring in that general area.

Post back when you have all your wiring straighten out.
