100 amp wiring

my house has 60 amp wiring. i would like to change this to 100 amp for several reasons. what exactly is involved. i already have a breaker box roughed in by the previous owner(?) though i dont know what state it is in. mostly i want to know about the wires from the hydro pole to my house(what is involved here and what to look for) and the wires inside my house(same concerns). all existing wiring in the house is copper. thank you so much. michael

michael try looking at the following link. When you get there look to the left column for "Show entire article. There you should find most your questions answered with pictures as examples. Then come back in and ask any further questions you have that article didn't answer for you.
