Stapling the wire

Stapling the wire
I finally got all of the wires pulled. I am slowly working on stapling the 14/3 and 14/2 wires to the studs/joists using the plastic coated staples.
How far apart can the staples be on the horizontal and vertical runs?
Any other hints/tips/traps are appreciated.

Maximum spacing is 4.5 feet -- more is certainly okay. Also staple within 8 to 12 inches of each box. You don't need to staple when running horizontally through bored holes in studs, only when running along a stud or joist.
I hate those plastic staples. They do make it less likely that you'll overdrive them and damage the cable, but they're just too hard to work with. Simple metal staples are much easier and much cheaper, but you do need to be very careful not to overdrive them.
