Question

I have an old floor lamp with three candles holding light bulbs and one pull chain. It has been rewired incorrectly. What is the correct method?

Cool

The smooth half of your lamp wire is the hot, and the ridged or imprinted half is neutral. Wire the hot (smooth) side to the brass screw on the switch, and the neutral to the silver screw. Hot wires to tab bases of bulb sockets (brass screws) and neutral to silver screws attached to bulb shell. Good Luck!
