new outlet

I would like to put a new outlet in , the only place I can tap into is an outlet with one line in and one line out. I am using 14/2 with ground wire. Is it ok to tap into that outlet box.

yes, as long as the circuit breaker protecting that recepticle is a 15 ampere breaker.

Yes, as long as the circuit breaker protecting that recepticle is a 15 ampere breaker, and the receptacle is not in a bathroom, kitchen, dining, or laundry room. There are some other potential considerations too, but we'd need to understand your project more to see if any of them apply.

new outlet

Thanks for the help everything went well. Just to get things right the one line going into the outlet box and the one line coming out is actually one cable going in and one cabel going out of 14/2 wire with ground. Thanks again,
