Lighting in Kitchen
#1

I just installed track lighting in my kitchen. It's a 10' track with 10 lights on it, 500 watts total, and my dimmer swith can handle 600 watts. When the lights are on I hear this humming sound, how can I prevent this humming?
Thank you,
Bernie

You didn't mention where the humming originates. I'll assume it's at the dimmer switch. Your lights are close to the capacity of the switch. Try getting a switch with a higher capacity and this should solve the problem.

hello bernmc,
im willing to bet what is causeing this is you are useing a standard dimmer which u cant do on sertion types of track. go to where you bought the track lighting and buy the dimmer that goes with the track u bought. some where in the instulation instructions or on the track its self it shuld list the dimmer that is for this track.
